Around 140 wines from the great 2022 vintage, 112 of which had vineyard designations, were submitted for the current Falstaff Wagram DAC Trophy for the Grüner Veltliner and Roter Veltliner grape varieties.

Once again Wagram DAC proved to be a mecca for Veltliner fans. The density of top wines at the Wagram has never been greater than at this tasting; no fewer than 36 samples achieved 93 points or more.

Our Grüner Veltliner Wagram DAC Ried Mordthal 2022 won the trophy in the supreme discipline of Grüner Veltliner with sensational 95 points.

As if that wasn't enough, we were also awarded with the second best wine in the second category, the Roter Veltliner, with our Roter Veltliner Ried Steinberg Große Reserve 2022, also with 95 points.

Overall, all three of our submitted Roter Veltliner (Ried Steinberg, Ried Mordthal & Ried Steinberg Große Reserve) were represented in the ranking between 95 & 93 points.
